Family policies

Photos of your child

We ask your written permission before we share any photo of your child, on this site, in newsletters or on social media, and you can change your answer at any time. We never put a child's name with a photo, and the photos on this site are examples until we replace them with our own.

When to keep your child home

Please keep your child home with a fever, vomiting, diarrhea or a rash we don't recognize, and until your child has been well for a full day. If a child becomes ill here, we call you and ask you to come. Tell us about anything that spreads, so we can tell the other families.

Drop-off and pickup

A teacher hands each child to you at the room door. We release a child only to the people on your pickup list, and we ask anyone we don't know for photo ID.

Late pickup

If you'll be late, call the front desk. A late charge applies after closing time, and Ludie explains how it works when you enroll. If it happens often, she talks with you about a different shift.

Meals, snacks and allergies

Breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack come from our kitchen, and the late shift also has supper. The menu is on the board by the front door each week. Tell us about allergies at the tour; we ask again in private once you enroll.

Naps and safe sleep

Infants sleep on their backs, in their own cribs, with nothing else in the crib. Older children rest on cots after lunch, and a child who doesn't sleep can look at books on a cot.

Closures for weather and holidays

We close on the holidays we give you in writing when you enroll. When severe weather is coming, we decide early and text every family before the first shift. We tell you about staff training days ahead of time.

Leaving the program

We ask for two weeks' notice, in writing or in person, so we can offer the place to the next family on the list.
